Funk, jazz, psychedelic, progressive, disco, electro, shake and the rest cool music from USSR of the 1965-1985.

Strange things

I have dig out some semi-profit stuff so I’m putting it here all together. Each track is very interesting nevertheless:

1) Extremely beautiful female vocals and a special quiet mood.
2) Raw garage stuff; 70’s I believe.
3) Just listen to the beat! Samplers go-go-go!
4) Incredibly minimalistic electric arrangement; the composition itself is beautiful too; the most end of the 80’s I believe.
5) Another beautiful song recorded ~1985 by an Imants Kalnins’ band.

Я и сам бы рад узнать кто это... Оказывается, сайт где я взял эту песню обновился и песня "Во имя Джона" теперь числится за коллективом "Луч". Есть ещё один трек: http://sssrviapesni.narod.ru/raznyevia.html

The sweetness voice on the first track has sucked my brain. She seems english singer Kate Bush at sixteen years old. The voice is wonderful and russian language added something special to the song. It could be otherwise? No. Also very good organ pattern with affinity at some italian 70s bands like le Orme (Gioco di bimba, La fabbricante d'angeli). It's a great pity that the song had some jumps and the vynil background sounds like a wood table. Question: The Dilizhans recorded something other? Sorry, 2nd, 3rd and 4th tracks are not for me, however Galina Sheveleva had a good voice. 5th track was not unknown to me. I find it very casually on Youtube, a video with her in a TV show, searching to learning something on Imants Kalnins. The track is nice with pop cut, the voice more than nice. From Imants Kalnins i found only a piece from 1973, strongly influenced by classical music and absolutely fantastic. Another piece from a '73 soundtrack is present, wonderful too.

Yet another track of Dilizhans with the same singer: http://www.sssrviapesni.narod.ru/raznoe/Dilizhans_zdravstvuy_lyubov.dll (rename "dll" to "mp3") I used to listen to some other records of the band named Dilizhans but there are only mail vocals and they differs much from these two songs so I decided that was some other band.

This track is clearly a b-side, not the same force as the first one. Grateful thanks for the Dilizhans gift and for knowing pearl like Eolika and the song of Chulli. Now i go to listen Kalnins & Menuets

Sorry Sovietgroove, I believed that Dilizhans was a band from late 70s or 80s. Are these two strange guys in this page, the Dilizhans band you had posted? http://rateyourmusic.com/artist/%D0%B4%D0%B8%D0%BB%D0%B8%D0%B6%D0%B0%D0%BD%D1%81__dilijans___rus_ If yes why the record sounds like old and where is the girl who sang with them? Thanks a lot for your answer

I suppose there were two different bands named "Dilizhans" in the early 80's. One close to rock music and other with a female on vocals. The one at rateyourmusic is some new band with no relation to the 80's Dilizhans(es). It seems. http://rateyourmusic.com/artist/%D0%B4%D0%B8%D0%BB%D0%B8%D0%B6%D0%B0%D0%BD%D1%81__dilijans___rus_

The first link relates to the 'rock' Dilijans and the 2nd is about some "new" band (called "Merry Dilizhans") existing since 1988.
